James Joseph French, 78, of Munster, IN passed away peacefully on Monday, December 21, 2009. Beloved son of the late William and Kathryn (nee Mabrey) French; loving brother of the late William French; dearest cousin of Diane (Kevin) Lucy of Portage, IN, Denny (Jane) Thomas Deerfield, IL, Timothy (Debe) Thomas of Huntingburg, IN, Tom (Joanne) Mabrey and Dave Mabrey. Visitation will be Sunday, December 27, 2009 from 2:00-6:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Ave. (next to Fitness Pointe) Munster, IN and Monday from 9:30-10:00 AM at the church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday December 28, 2009 at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas More Church 8501 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN with Fr. Michael Yadron officiating. Interment, St. Joseph Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Jim was a graduate of Bishop Noll Institute class of 1949 and Purdue University School of Pharmacy. He was a true gentleman who always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. He will be missed by his friends in the Wicker Park neighborhood. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Bishop Noll Institute Scholarship fund in his memory would be appreciated.
