Joan Potocky (nee Pieczykolan), age 83, of Munster, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023. She is survived by her husband of over 50 years, John, and her son, John. She is preceded in death by her parents, Wladyslaw and Dominika. Joan loved classical music, doing crossword puzzles, holiday festivities, and family gatherings. But she was best as a devoted mother and wife, making a home and caring for her family.
Joan was born in Poland in 1940. She graduated from Bishop Noll Institute in 1958, as valedictorian.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 15, 2023 from 3:00-8:00 PM with a vigil service at 3:30 PM at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. and Saturday at 9:30-10:00 AM at the church. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas More 8501 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. Interment, Holy Cross cemetery, Calumet City, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Joan’s name to your favorite charity or the Carmelite home in East Chicago.
