John A. Grskovich, age 85 of Munster, IN passed away peacefully in his home with his family by his side on September 6, 2024. He is survived by his beloved wife, Carolyn (nee Mastey); and his sons, Kevin Grskovich, Greg Grskovich and Brian (Kathy) Grskovich; and his grandson, Trevino Fukar and granddaughter, Morgan Fukar.
John was born at home in East Chicago, IN to John and Antonia Grskovich. He attended Bishop Noll High School, Purdue Calumet and the Illinois Institute of Technology. John served in the US Army Reserve and worked at Blaw-Knox, Eichleay Corp. and John Burns Construction for over 4 decades.
John was an active parishioner at St. Thomas More Church. He was an avid boater and loved being on his boat on Lake Michigan. John had a great love for dogs and enjoyed his time with all of the family’s pets. In his retirement he loved to travel with his wife and especially loved spending time in the Smokey Mountains in Tennessee.
John will be greatly missed by his family and all those whose lives he touched. A Celebration of Life will be held at KISH FUNERAL HOME 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN on Friday, September 13, 2024. Friends can visit with the family from 3 – 7 PM with a Vigil Service at 3:30PM and again on Saturday, at the church from 9:30AM until the 10:00AM Mass. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 14, at 10:00 AM. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church 8501 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN offered by Reverend Michael Yadron. Interment will be private. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
