John “Jack” C. Moorman

May 14, 1925 - February 9, 2011

John “Jack” C. Moorman Jr. 85 of Munster, IN formerly of Griffith, IN passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 after a lengthy illness. Jack was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Josephine Moorman. He is survived by his daughters, Janet Sirota and Nancy (Harold) Graham; son John (Mary) Moorman III; grandchildren, William Graham, Leslie Sirota, Anna Moorman, Peter Moorman, Jordan Sirota and Nicolas Moorman; numerous brothers and sisters in law, nieces and nephews; preceded in death by his sister, Betty Adams.Jack served with the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II. He worked many years for Ruman and Associates as a legal investigator. He served several terms on the Town of Griffith Park Board as well as many years on the Art in the Park Committee. Jack was a longtime member of the Hammond Lion’s Club and an avid IU basketball and Chicago White Sox baseball fan. Jack will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be on Friday, February 11, 2011 from 3:00-8:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. Funeral service will be on Saturday at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN.
