JOHN JURKASH MUNSTER, IN John Jurkash, 82, Munster, IN formerly of the East Side. Born December 14,1932. Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, March 18, 2015. Loving father and best friend of William (Sherry) Jurkash, Catherine (Thomas) Newman, Therese (late Cyril) Moran, Anthony (Doreen) Jurkash, John (Sharon) Jurkash, Jacqueline (John) Popravak, Stephanie (Richard) Goetz. Loving brother of Mary (Romeo) Buoscio, Michael (Patricia) Jurkash, Peter (late Helen) Jurkash, Anne (Robert) Czaszewicz, Elizabeth (late James) Gotovac. Brother-in-law of Genevieve (late Dominic) Marco, Elizabeth (late Joseph) Arlow and James (Dorothy) Rossi. Beloved grandfather of 15 and great-grandfather of nine. Uncle of many nieces and nephews and an inspiration to all who knew him. Preceded in death by his wife of 53 years Dorothy (Rossi) Jurkash; his granddaughter Amanda Jurkash; and sister-in-law Ralphina (late Francis) Gornick. John was a graduate of Bowen High School, a retired boilermaker, a member of VFW Post 2697, the St. Thomas More Holy Name Society, the St. Thomas More Seniors, St. Florian's KSKJ Lodge #44 and the 99th Street \”Guys\”. Visitation at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave., Munster, IN on Sunday, March 22, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (prayer service at 3:00 PM) and Monday, March 23, 2015 from 9:30 p.m. to 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas More Church, 8501 Calumet Ave., Munster, IN, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, IL. John devoted his life to his family and his faith. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Thomas More Capital Campaign.
