John “Louie” Estrada

John L. “Louie” Estrada, Sr., 85, of Munster, passed away April, 17, 2014 on his 85th birthday, in his home after a long illness. He is survived by daughter, Doreen Brant of Munster, son John Jr. of Arlington Heights, IL, daughter Ann Marie Estrada of Munster, son David Estrada (Mary Jo) of Munster; six grandchildren: Julie Gaunt (Rory) of Marblehead, MA, Ryan Dunn (Nicole) of Munster, David Brandon Estrada of Valparaiso, IN, Chanel Brant of Munster, David George Brant of Indianapolis, IN and Aaron Estrada of Munster, and four great grandchildren; and sister Sally Rico (Ernie) of Griffith, IN. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anita; and his eldest daughter, Debra Dunn (Michael); and two brothers. John was a graduate of Bishop Noll High School in Hammond, IN, and retired from Inland Steel Company, East Chicago, IN. He was a long time member of St. Thomas More Church in Munster. Louie took great pride in his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and loved his family dearly. At his request, funeral services will be private for his immediate family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in John L. Estrada’s memory be made to the Harbor Light Hospice; 1841 E. Summit Street; Crown Point, IN 46307. Funeral service will be private.
