John R. Sabo, 74, of Griffith, IN passed away Wednesday February 16, 2022. He is survived by his loving daughter Jennifer (William) Stephen of Highland, IN and his two loving sons Michael (Lisa Riffle) Sabo and her two children Nick and Nathan Riffle of Schererville, IN and Jonathan Sabo of IN; five beloved grandchildren Allison Stephen, Andrew Stephen of Highland, IN, Sebastian Sabo, Sofia Sabo of Schererville, IN and Kylie Sabo of Demotte, IN; one brother Ronald Sabo of East Chicago, IN; one brother in law Ronald (Janice) Szafarczyk of Dyer, IN; many nieces, nephews and countless friends. Preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Helen Sabo; his wife Christine Sabo and daughter in law Audrey Sabo.
Visitation Sunday February 27, 2022 from 12:00-4:00 pm at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Avenue in Munster. Will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery.
John was a retired employee of the Lake County Surveyor’s office and Inland Steel, a National Guard and Reserve Veteran and a lifelong resident of Lake County.
