It is with deep sorrow to announce the passing of John “Jack” Stephens on November 4, 2023 in Munster, Indiana at the age of 79, leaving behind cherished memories and a profound sense of loss. Born on September 11, 1944, in Harvey, Illinois, Jack was a man of integrity, strength, and unwavering devotion. He was an incredible husband, father, and friend, whose presence brought warmth and joy to those around him. Jack’s generosity, kindness, and wise counsel will forever be remembered. Throughout his educational journey, Jack attended Fenger High School, where he laid the groundwork for a successful future. He furthered his studies at U of I and IIT, acquiring the knowledge and skills that would shape his professional path. Jack’s career was marked by excellence and dedication. As a CPA, he excelled in his role as the Chief Financial Officer at Citizens Financial Services. His journey began as an accountant at E&Y, where he honed his craft and displayed an exceptional aptitude for numbers. Jack’s commitment to his work and his meticulous attention to detail earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike. Beyond his professional achievements, Jack found solace and fulfillment in various hobbies and interests. He was an avid supporter of the Chicago White Sox, cheering for his favorite team with unwavering enthusiasm. Jack also dedicated his time to serving on The Hospice board of Northwest Indiana, extending compassion and care to those in need. He treasured the moments spent at the Michigan Lakehouse, finding tranquility in its serene surroundings.

Jack is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine; and their daughter, Susan. He was preceded in death by his son, Scott, whose memory will forever be cherished. Jack’s presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love and kindness will endure.

The Visitation arrangements to honor Jack’s life will be held at KISH FUNERAL HOME 10000 Calumet Ave Munster, IN on Sunday, November 12, 2023 from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm. We invite you to join us in paying tribute to a remarkable individual who touched the hearts of many. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, November 13, 2023 at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery Calumet City, IL.
