Joseph W. Horney, 79, of Rolling Prairie, IN passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017. He is survived by his wife, Susan; daughters, Diana (Robert) Wittle, Jo Anne (Christopher) Tapert and Susan (Russell) Merlo; grandchildren, Emma, Benjamin, Paul, Peter and Jacob; several stepchildren; brother, John Horne; sisters, Susan (Paul) Reichert and Sharon (late Robert) Balje; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bama Lou. Visitation will be on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 3:00-8:00 pm at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. Funeral service will be on Saturday, March 11, 2017 9:45 am at the funeral home with a 10:30 Mass of Christian Burial at St. Michael Church, Schererville, IN. Entombment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, IL. Joseph served with the U.S. Army and retired from LTV Steel in 1992. In lieu of Flowers, donation to the Disabled American Veterans, www.dav.org would be appreciated.
