Joyce C. Piekarski

Joyce C. Piekarski (nee Hammond), 79 of Lansing, IL passed away on Friday, August 5, 2011 at Hartsfield Village, Munster, IN. She is survived by three children: Daughter, Patricia (Peter) Yackanich and their children, Matthew and Cameron; son: Daniel (Kathy) and their children, Lauren and Alexandra; son, Robert (Kim) and their children, Jake, Zak and Jordan. Preceded in death by her husband, Eugene (1992), son, Richard (1975) and Parents, Charles and Myrtle Hammond. Joyce was preceded in death by numerous Aunts and Uncles. Joyce was a member of Our Lady of Knock Church in Calumet City, IL. She previously worked as a bookkeeper at Kingery Steel Fabricators, and also worked as a Hospice home visitor. The focus of Joyce’s life was her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 from 3:00-8:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN and on Thursday from 9:30-10:00 at the church. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Knock Church, 501 163rd St, Calumet City, IL. Fr Patrick Lyons officiating. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, IL.
