Judith L. Kerins (née Simpson) age 69, of Highland, IN, passed away September 7, the same date she came into this world. Judy is the daughter of Nancy and the late Charles W. Simpson. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, James, their sons Anthony (Erin) and U.S. Army Sgt. Thomas Kerins; grandsons Aidan, Max, and Chase Kerins; brothers Charles, Douglas (Caryn) Simpson; sister Nancy Lee (Christopher) Malo her many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her youngest sister Mary L. Benoit.

Judith was one of five children who grew up in Munster, IN. She was a 1970 graduate of Munster High School and spent most of her career in the automotive industry in sales and service. Her passion was spending time with her three grandsons, traveling with her husband James, and any time she was with her many dear friends.

Friends and relatives speak of Judith’s humor, honesty, and wonderful ability to tell a great story. For the last six years, she was also a “warrior” who fought cancer with determination, perseverance, and enthusiasm that will forever be unmatched.

The family is holding a memorial service and celebration of Judith’s life on Saturday, October 9, 2021, from 11:00 to 1:00pm at the Kish Funeral Home located at 10000 Calumet Ave. in Munster, Indiana.  In lieu of flowers and gifts, donations may be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (https://www.bcrf.org/) and the Disabled American Veterans (https://www.dav.org).
