Julius Fenoglio, 91, of Calumet City, IL passed away at home on Saturday, May 10, 2014. He was born in West Frankfort, IL on November 20, 1922 to Chester and Josephine (Scapino) Fenoglio. He attended schools in West Frankfort, leaving for Hammond, IN after graduating from high school in 1940. He is survived by his wife, Angeline (Rizos); daughter, Sharon (Jack) Jeka; grandchildren, Jason Paul Jeka and Amy Ann Jeka; several cousins; He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather Frank Guidazzio, aunts, uncles and cousins. He is a World War II Army Air Corp Veteran serving from February 3, 1943 until February 25, 1946. He is a life member of the American Legion Post 330 and VFW Ehinger Brothers Post 8141 both of Calumet City, IL. He is also a life member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 795 in West Frankfort, IL. The VFW will post colors at 6:30 PM and the American Legion will post colors at 7:00 PM on Thursday and hold military honors on Friday. He retired from Graver Tank/Union Tank Car with 42 years of service. Visitation will be Thursday, May 15, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN and on Friday from 10:30-11:00 AM at the church. Funeral service will be Friday, May 16, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the First United Lutheran Church, 6705 Hohman Ave Hammond, IN with Pastor Bassam Abdallah officiating. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, IN. In lieu of flowers, donation to the Humane Society of the Calumet Area, A pet rescue organization or a charity of your choice in his memory would be appreciated.
