Justine E. Walker, 87, was born to Elmer and Emmabelle Mackiewich in Chicago, IL. Formerly of Homewood, Illinois, she was staying in Munster, Indiana as COVID shut down Illinois last year.  Justine passed away at home in Munster with her loving daughters surrounding her, Victoria (Anthony) Mattera of Dyer, IN, Susan Walker, of Munster, IN and Charlene (Anthony) Zralka of  Lansing, IL.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Peter J. Walker, Sr.; her son, Peter J. Walker, Jr.; and granddaughter, Jennifer Risner.  She leaves, in addition to her daughters, grandchildren: Elizabeth (Adam) Porter, James (Ania Kolakowska) Porter, Luke (Sarah) Walker, Michael (Jamie) Porter, Anthony Zralka, Michelle (Jeff) Shepard and Michael Walker and 14 great-grandchildren.

She worked for the City of Chicago Heights until her retirement. Volunteering was part of her nature and a favorite place she volunteered was Paws Critter Crossing in Chicago Heights. Justine was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Women’s Club when her children were in school. Justine loved to travel and was always up for an outing with her loved ones.  Everyone who knew her has a fond memory that included her wit, humor and elegance.

Visitation will be at 9am on Tuesday, April 27 at St. Kieran Church, 724 195th Street Chicago Heights, IL. Right off of Halsted Street. Mass will start at 11 with burial at St. Casimir’s Cemetery 4401 West 111th Street, Chicago.
