Karen “KK” Kane, age 79, of Highland, formerly of Valparaiso, passed away on Friday, March 10, 2023. Karen “KK” Kane, age 79, of Highland, formerly of Valparaiso, passed away on Friday, March 10, 2023.
She is survived by her daughter; Tracy (nee Nix) Clark and grandsons; Mason Ryan Clark, Joshua Michael Clark, and Logan Robert Clark.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents Tony and Helen Canino.
A Celebration of Life with family and friends will be held on Saturday, March 25 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Kish Funeral Home located at 10000 Calumet Ave., Munster, IN. followed by a small memorial service at 12:30 p.m.
Karen graduated from Merrillville High School, Class of 1961. She coordinated many of the Class Reunions and their monthly Breakfast Club. Karen attended Rayvough Interior Design School and then later worked in Interior Design for Krughoff Builders. Karen went on to become a realtor for many years and then became a Title Account Rep. for Ticor Title/Fidelity National Title Company. Karen was a long-time member with GNIAR, Porter Co. Builders Association, and the Indiana Mortgage Bankers Association, Duneland Chapter.
Karen was known for her fashion sense and being a trendsetter and always adding some “sparkle” wherever she went. She was known as being a hero, encourager, and a mentor to many in the Business Communities.
Karen enjoyed her family, especially spending time with her grandsons. She loved playing board games, card games, crossword puzzles and making jewelry. Karen was a beach lover, and enjoyed spending her time at the Indiana Dunes.
Karen will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She was hilarious and smart. So business savvy, a great closer and business woman. She could have sold swampland in FL and been good at it. I loved her very much and the world was a better more stylish place with her here. She’s in heaven right now classing up the place.
