Karen L. Butynski, 68, of Munster, IN passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2016. Cherished sister of Marlene (Marlon) Veldkamp, Elaine Butynski, Thomas (Catherine) Butynski and JoEllen (Branko) Aleksandrovich. Beloved Aunt of Rob Shimko, fiancé Leslie Gouliaev and her daughter, Emma, Jeff Shimko and Tim Veldkamp. Fond cousin of Joseph Butynski. Faithful companions, Zeva and Taffy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Lottie Butynski, and her brother, Kenneth Butynski. Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 from 3:00-8:00 with a prayer service at 3:30 pm at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN and on Wednesday from 9:30-10:00 am at the church. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at 10:00 am at St. Thomas More Church, Munster, IN. Interment will be private. Karen was a graduate of Hammond Tech High School. She was formerly employed at American Maize, Munster Donut and Capital Appraisal Company.
