Karen Margaret Matuska (nee Fuller), age 69, of Highland, IN, and former longtime resident of Munster, IN, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2016. She is survived by her husband, Milan; sons, Mark (Melissa Shary), of Chicago, IL, and Todd (Jennifer), of Chesterton, IN; grandchildren, Jonah and Lily Matuska, whom Grandma loved \”to the Moon and Back\”; brother, Norman Fuller, of The Villages, FL; sisters, JoAnn (David) Odom, of Jacksonville, NC, and Janet (Sam) Marinucci, of Dover, DE; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Emily Fuller; father, Walter Fuller; and brother, Raymond Fuller. Karen graduated from Bloom High School in Chicago Heights, IL, and earned her B.S. Degree in Business Administration from Illinois State University. She worked for R.R. Donnelley & Sons as a purchasing agent, The Times newspaper as a research librarian, and Griffith Methodist Church as an office administrator. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2016, DIRECTLY at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 7227 Hohman Ave., Hammond, IN, with Pastor Kevin Olson officiating. Interment will follow at Concordia Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Visitation will be on Friday, February 26, 2016, at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and again at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the 10:00 a.m. service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Karen's name to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church or Hospice of the Calumet Area.
