Karen M. (Kelley) McDonell, age 59, of Springboro, OH, passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2017. She is a graduate of Morton High School in Hammond. She is survived by her husband, Steve McDonell; daughters, Katie Ann McDonell and Drew Marie McDonell; grandchildren, Madison, Austin and Riley; father, George Wade Kelley; and sister, Susan Kelley. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marilyn Kelley. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 10, 2017 DIRECTLY at St. Thomas More Catholic Church 8505 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN with a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial offered by Reverend Michael Yadron. Entombment will follow at St. John-St. Joseph Cemetery Hammond, IN. Visitation will be on Friday, at the church, from 9:00 a.m. until the 10:00 a.m. Mass. Karen was an avid Chicago Blackhawks fan and loved traveling. She relocated 5 times with her family for business to various locations and cultures across the Midwest. Her family was in process of moving from Ohio to Valparaiso due to their love of the Chicagoland area and lower Lake Michigan, especially the parks and beaches.
