Karyl M. Pawlowski (nee Filas) 82, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family and devoted husband of 62 years, Raymond. Preceded in death by her son, Raymond and mother, Florence Filas. She is survived by her daughters, Joan (Rich) Murphy and Susan (Timothy) Arvay; daughter-in-law, Patsy Pawlowski; loving grandchildren, Allison Rae Pawlowski, Andy (Catie), Kevin and Elaine Murphy, Tim, Justin, Ethan and Kennan Arvay; brothers-in-law, Jack (Lorraine) Pawlowski and Tom (Millie) Pawlowski; sisters-in-law, Dorothy (late George) Vasilko and Rita (Gene) Zielinski; dear cousins, Lois (Virgil) Kolb and David (Kathleen) Lauerman; many other cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Sunday, November 11, 2012 from 2:00-6:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN and on Monday from 9:30-10:00 AM at the church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 AM at St. Maria Goretti Church, 500 Northgate Dr. Dyer, IN. Karyl graduated from Bishop Noll Institute in 1948 and married Raymond, her high school sweetheart, in 1950. Karyl was very active at St. Victor‚ Church and school while raising her family. She volunteered at St. Margaret Mercy Hospital and was past president of the auxiliary. Karyl was a member of PI Epsilon Kappa. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren‚ sports and activities. Karyl loved traveling and winters in Arizona, always stopping for a visit with her Colorado grandchildren. She was fond of cards, casinos, crocheting, enjoying life, family and friends.
