Kathleen A. Engelbrecht

Kathleen Annette \”\”Grammy K\” Engelbrecht (nee Brennan), age 79, of Schererville, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2008. She is survived by her sons: Terry (Sandi) Engelbrecht, Donald (Lynn) Engelbrecht, Jr., Kevin Engelbrecht, Christopher (Elizabeth) Engelbrecht, Daniel (Ann) Engelbrecht and Paul John (Yvonne) Engelbrecht; daughters: Patricia Wager and Elizabeth (Mark) Linn; grandchildren: Carla (Goran), Jessie (Michael), Charity, Matthew (Krystal), Lisa (Joe), Kate, John, Richard, Erin, Jake, Jonathan, Ashley, Sarah, Blake, Austin and Lauren; nine great grandchildren; twin sister, Josephine Stoffregen, sister, Mary Ginther; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband, Donald; sister, Nellie Quan; brothers: John Brennan and Tom Brennan; and granddaughter, Amy Renee Engelbrecht.Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 7, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. (next to Fitness Pointe), Munster, IN with Fr. Niblick officiating. Cremation to follow. Visitation will be Thursday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.Being the daughter of two immigrants, Kathleen instilled traditional Irish values as matriarch of her own clan. She made it her mission to celebrate birthdays and holidays (St. Patty's was her favorite) in epic fashion. Grammy K's dedication to her loved ones was unparalleled. Summers were spent soaking up the sun on the shores of Michigan with her family. She also enjoyed crafting, genealogy and took such pride in discovering treasures while garage saling and antiquing.
