Konstanty “Konnie” J. Pieczykolan, age 84, of Munster, IN, died peacefully at his home on Thursday, March 23, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was born March 11, 1933, in Poland, was relocated to a German labor camp during World War II and emigrated to the United States when he was 17. After settling in Indiana Harbor, he joined the Army, where he served as a tank driver in the 6th Armored Cavalry Regiment in West Germany in the 1950s. Upon discharge, he worked for much of his career in sales for Crescent Electric. He is survived by his loving wife, Alice (Mojrzeszek Liberacki); five daughters, Victoria (Robert) Kosin, Jeannette (Ron) Cairns, Jane (Jim) Szczepaniak, Diane (Jack) Barry, and Diane (Steve) Andersen; seven grandchildren; and sister, Harriet Jelinski. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Christine (Wajszczuk). Visitation will be on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a Vigil Service at 1:30 p.m., and visitation, again on Monday, at the church, from 11:30 a.m., until the 12:00 p.m. Mass. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 27, 2017 DIRECTLY at St. Thomas More Catholic Church 8501 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN with a 12:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial offered by Reverend Michael Yadron. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery Calumet City, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Konnie’s name to the Carmelite Fathers 1628 Ridge Rd. Munster, IN 46321.
