Larry E. Blue, 71 of Hammond, Indiana passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 18, 2012. Beloved husband of 49 years to Rosemary “Candy” (nee Olchawa); loving father of Candice (Scott) Lindow, Nancy (James) Case, Amy Blue-Fleming (Jerry Fleming) and Laura Blue-Slocum (Bryan Slocum); cherished grandfather of Stephanie, Sam, Meghan, Riley, Philip, Aiden, Brenna, Isis, Kacey and Mia; fond brother of Charles Michael (Jane) Blue and Karen (late Nicholas) Bachan; caring brother-in-law of Jerry King; many loving nieces and nephews; preceded in death by his sister, Judy King. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 from 3:00-8:00 PM with a funeral service at 8:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. Larry retired from Allied Chemical, PVS Chemical and Rhodia Chemical. The family wishes to thank all who cared for and showed kindness toward Larry during his lengthy illness.

Larry was the first friend I made when I moved to Chicago from Ohio, in 1968, and he remained one of my very best friends for life. If you were fortunate enough to have Larry as your friend, you could always count on him. His word was always good: If he told you he would do something, it would get done. I'll always fondly remember the many good times together in Hegewisch, Cal City and Hammond. Larry had a big, warm heart and great sense of humor.
