Lillian Green (nee Moskovitz), 86, of Munster, IN and West Palm Beach, FL formerly of Gary, IN passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2009. Lillian was born in Hungary, the daughter of the late Eugene and Rose Moskovitz. She is survived by her devoted and beloved husband of 62 years, Eddie Green; loving mother of Linda (Ken) Brown and Robert (Bill Lieber) Green; cherished grandmother of Laura Brandt, Solomon Brown and Jeremiah (Kathy) Brown; sister of Eva (Cy) Kolten and Don (Iris) Moskovitz; numerous nieces and nephews. Lillian and Eddie started in the grocery business in 1947 and worked together side by side for ten years growing a successful business. She was a member of Hadassah, Congregation Beth Israel and sisterhood. She made holiday meals for the synagogue in her younger years. She helped the sick and elderly in nursing homes. Lil was a lady who embraced life with a strong indomitable spirit and giving heart. Her enormous love for family, friends and community was felt by all who knew her. She had a passion for life and beauty, and also found tremendous joy in culture and nature. Visitation will be from 12:00-1:00 PM on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 with a funeral service at 1:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Ave. (next to Fitness Pointe) Munster, IN. with Rabbi Ben Kramer and Edward Feldman officiating; Interment Beth El Cemetery, Portage, IN. Memorial contributions to Hospice of West Palm Beach County or the Jewish Federation of Northwest Indiana in her memory would be appreciated.
