Lois Jane Szczepaniak, nee Hanley, 79, died Monday, September 5, 2011 in southern California following a brief illness. Lois was a 70+ year resident of the Chicagoland area. Born in 1932, Lois received her nursing degree from Little Company of Mary Hospital. Lois was the wife of the late Reginald Francis Szczepaniak; loving mother of Mark Richard (Sandie) Szczepaniak; devoted grandmother of Taylor Rose Szczepaniak. She is also survived by her beloved sisters Roslyn Quinn and Gail (Bob) Landis, and brother William (Ruth) Hanley. Lois was the loving Godmother of Darren Smith, and fond aunt to many nieces and nephews. Visitation is Friday, September 9, 2011, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Avenue in Munster, Indiana with a funeral service at 8:00 PM. There will be a private burial on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Holy Cross Cemetery.
