Lona J. Valadez, 72, of Munster, IN passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2014. She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Frank; sisters, Linda Murzyn and Lori (Duane) Dedelow; many nieces and nephews; beloved pet, Molly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Margaret Murzyn and her beloved pet, Heidi.Visitation will be on Monday, December 22, 2014 from 9:30-10:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Church, 5310 Hohman Ave. Hammond, IN. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, IL.Lona retired from AT&T, in 1994. After “retiring,” she substitute taught at Gavit High School. At Gavit, Lona met many wonderful faculty members along with touching a countless number of student’s lives over the last twenty years. Above all, she cherished the time she spent with her family and beloved dogs; Heidi and Molly. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Carmelite Monastery in Munster, IN or St. Joseph Church, Hammond, IN would be appreciated.
