Lorraine Ann Bork

Lorraine Ann Bork (nee Palla) 74 of Dyer, IN formerly of East Chicago, IN passed away on Friday, July 1, 2011. She is survived by her sons: William N. (Yolanda) Bork of Dyer, IN, Michael (Sofia) Bork of Crown Point, IN and Thomas (Charity) Bork of East Chicago, IN; grandchildren: William Jr, Derek, Tyler, Audrey, Michael, Brandan, Lorin, Aaron, Vanessa, Emily, Gina, Thomas, David and Nathan; great grandson: Alexander; brothers: Nick “Richard” Palla of Jensen Beach, FL and Donald (Jeanette) Palla of Chesterton, IN; brother in laws: Frank Podkul of East Chicago, IN and Donald (Eileen) Bork of Dyer, IN, many nieces, nephews and many many friends. Preceded in death by her husband: William “Bill” Bork; daughter: Saundra; parents: Nick and Jeanette Palla; sister: Florence “Jean” Podkul and her companion, Irish. Lorraine was a 1955 graduate of East Chicago Roosevelt. She was an active member of St. Maria Goretti Parish, volunteered at the Humane Society of the Calumet Area, former teachers assistant for the East Chicago School system and a loyal fan for all her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews sporting events and performances. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 11:00 AM at St. Maria Goretti Church, 500 Northgate Dr. Dyer, IN. Contributions may be made to the Humane Society of the Calumet Area, Women’s Shelter of Domestic Abuse of Hammond, IN, Hospice of the Calumet Area or Autism Awareness in her memory would be appreciated.
