Lori was born in December 1938 in East Chicago. She attended Holy Trinity Croation
School and graduated from East Chicago Washington High School in 1957. Lori and
Bob married in February 1958. They bought a house in south Hammond in June 1960
and lived there until the fall of 1971 when Bob finished building Lori her dream home,
one half block from their old home.
Lori was a 58-year member of Holy Trinity Hungarian Church in East Chicago, where
she was a member of the Ladies of Fatima Sorority and Daughters of Isabella Circle.
She served as president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus Council
1700.
A woman of deep faith, Lori valued family above all else. She balanced raising her
children—Cindy, Gail, and Bob with a full-time career, while always striving to be the
best partner she could be to her beloved husband. She was a steady presence, a
tireless supporter, and an unwavering source of love and encouragement.
In 2021, Lori moved to Kansas City, where she spent time living with family before
transitioning to a nearby assisted living apartment. Over her final days, family and
friends gathered to share stories, laughter, and love. Though her health declined
rapidly, she remained a tiny but mighty fighter until the very end. Her family spent her
last hours holding her hand and comforting her as she prepared for her peaceful
journey home.
Lori’s spirit, zest for life, and big heart touched everyone who knew her. She gave life,
guidance, and unconditional support to her children—listening without judgment,
celebrating every milestone, and standing firmly in their corner. She was truly the rock
of her family and will be missed beyond words.
