Lorraine Ardell Dixon (nee Weber), 85, of Munster and Hammond, IN passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, January 11, 2013. Lorraine is survived by her three loving sons, Charles (Diane) of LaPorte, IN, Richard (Pamela) of Warsaw, IN and Robert (Gail) of Hammond, IN; sister, Katherine (Jack) Schwer of Munster, IN; sister-in-law, Betty Dixon of Whiting, IN; grandchildren, Julie Ann (Jeff) Dettlebach, Lori (Steve) Greenberg, Graydon (Sherri) Dixon, Tracy (Kevin) Ferguson, Dawn Dixon, Jeff (Carol) Dixon and Jennifer Perez; great grandchildren, Greer and Grover Greenberg, Ashley, Grayden Jr and Cody Dixon, Taylor, Matthew and Emma Ferguson, Jordan, Jillian and Juliette Dixon, Nicole and Christopher Perez and their father Paul Perez,; great great grandson, Camryn; and many loving nieces and nephews; Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Donald in 2008; infant son, Kenneth Allen Dixon; parents, Graydon and Julia Weber; in-laws, Charles and Elizabeth Dixon. Lorraine was a lifelong area resident, graduating from Catholic Central (Bishop Noll) High School. Lorraine, her sister Katie and sister-in-law Dorothy Dixon were with the Hammond Clinic when it opened on Hohman Ave. in Hammond and 35 years later retired from the clinic in Munster. Lorraine and Donald enjoyed retirement in the Northwood of Minnesota where they owned and operated Lantern Bay Lodge in Longville, Minnesota for 20 years. Visitation will be on Thursday from 3:00-8:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN (next to Fitness Pointe) and on Friday from 10:00-11:00 AM at the church. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 18, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, 7204 Arizona Ave. Hammond, IN. Cremation will follow and burial will be at the convenience of the family. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks for the loving care their mother received by her caregiver Tina Riffle, loving neighbor Danny Kmack and in home nursing care by A+ Home Health Care of Highland.
