January 27, 1946 - July 8, 2014

Lorraine J. Fiordelisi, 68, of Schererville, IN passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2014. She is survived by her partner of 14 years, Ronald Segert; sons, Russell Foster of Chicago, IL and Darrell Foster of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Darrell Jr and Jahaziel “Jazzy”; cousins, Joseph (Marie) Tagliavia of Delaware and Barbara (Patrick) Quinn of Long Island, NY; Ron’s son, Bryce (Fiance Meg) Segert; Ron’s parents, Mr. & Mrs. Vernon Segert of Crown Point, IN; Ron’s siblings, Cynthia (Thomas) Schoon of Hebron and Robert (Lisa) Segert of Dallas, TX; her childhood friend of 65 years, Myrna Green of N. Woodmere, NY; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Saturday, July 12, 2014 from 1:00-6:00 PM with a funeral service at 6:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. Interment will be private. Lorraine was the Assitant Director of Career Services at Purdue University Calumet. She was a member of New Horizons Singles, Candlelighters of Northwest Indiana and an avid participant of Goodtime Charley’s Singles Dances. She a former member of Helpmates, Co-Owner of Tuffy’s Charters, former Cub Scout Leader at St. Mary’s Church in Crown Point and a former figure skater as well as a social ballroom dancer. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in her memory would be appreciated.

I can't tell you how many times sitting and visiting with her brought a smile to my face. I learned about her love for dancing and her love for you three. I remember the times I went to the Career Services Center and Lorraine with that wonderful smile on her face to greet me every time. Lorraine always went that extra mile and gave me quality time to critique my information. Those are the kind of things that she will always be remembered for making people smile and bringing hope into other people’s lives. It’s so hard to think of this world without her, it is a happy thought knowing that wherever she is, she will always continue to spread happiness.
