Louis S. Chronowski Sr., 78, of Munster, IN passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2015. Born September 16, 1936 to Stanley and Mable (Whiting) Chronowski in Sault Sainte Marie, MI. Married on February 4, 1967 to the love of his life, Marlene (Konopka). He is survived by his wife, Marlene and Loving father to Louis Jr. (Joy), Michael, Christopher, Helen and John; adoring grandfather to Mason, Sara, Sam, Abigail and Alyssa Chronowski; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Alex and Glenda Konopka, step-brother, Tim Chronowski. Uncle and cousin to many. Preceded in death by his parents; grandchildren, Evan and Megan; sister, Joann Norton.Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN and on Thursday from 10:00-10:30 AM at the church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 10:30 AM at St. Thomas More Church, 8501 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, IL.Louie was a long-time resident of Munster and a parishioner at St. Thomas More Church. He retired from Amtrak and PMP Sales. Louie loved to laugh and tell jokes. He always had a smile on his face and had an undying love for his family. He most enjoyed spending time with his family and watching the Yankees. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Memphis, TN.
