Margaret Henderlite Donovan

Margaret Henderlite Donovan, 84, of Sauk Village, IL passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2009. She is survived by her son: Russell (Debra) Donovan of California; daughters: Rachel Donovan of New Mexico, Margaret (John) Tessling of Illinois and Tammy (Sotirios) Apostolis of Indiana; grandchildren: Eric Donovan, Gloria Marcott, Christopher Donovan, Vanessa Tessling, John Tessling, Donald Donovan, Thomas Donovan, Kalliopi Apostolis and Sotiria Apostolis; preceded in death by her husband: Russell Donovan and son: Peter Donovan. Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 from 3:00-8:00 pm at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Ave. (next to Fitness Pointe) Munster, IN. Funeral service on Wednesday August 26, 2009 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment: Oakland Memory Lane Cemetery, Dolton, IL. Margaret was an accomplished pianist and educator, born in Baird, Texas. She graduated from Tarleton State University with a Baccalaureate cum laude ( T scholar) and graduated The American Conservatory of Music with a Masters cum laude. Followed by post graduate work. Margaret then went on to marry her husband of 37 years and have five children. She was a duo pianist with Charles Froh at Texas State University, pianist & accompanist at New Trier High School in Winnetka, Il. An American Conservatory of Music member and faculty, member & faculty of the Park Forrest Conservatory of Music, a private piano instructor, organist at The United Church Of Christ in Sauk Village-where she resided for 47 years. An adjudicator for The National Guild of Piano Playing Auditions and, a member of the Society of American Musicians. She was the recipient of the Hattstaedt Gold Metal Piano Award. A member of the Lakeview music society, Sigma Alpha Iota and a Presbyterian. She was a very inspiring and beloved Musician, Teacher, Mother and Grandmother, whose loss will be felt by many.
