Margaret Scott Smiddy

Margaret Smiddy (nee Mellon) age 99, of Schererville, IN, passed away Monday, April 1, 2024.

The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to her caregivers, Dawn, Bev, Liz, Sally, Carolyn, Teresa, Michelle, and Essie.

Margaret is survived by her daughters, Suzanne Scott, Lisa (Scott) McAlister and Patricia (Bob) Danowski; grandchildren, Michael (Rachel) Pranno, Scott (Kyleigh) Crepeau, Kristen (Eric) Spain and Michelle (Aaron)Hodge, Liz Haase; great grandchildren, Bret Spain, Cameron Crepeau, Carsyn Crepeau, Agostino Pranno and Marco Pranno: nieces and nephews, Jim Mellon, Diane Salach, Barbara (Justin) Kolb, Tom (Nancy) Mellon, Katie Esser and Cameron (Amanda) Scott; great niece, Addison Scott.

Preceded in death by mother and father, George (Alfaretta) Mellon; husband, Fred Scott, husband of 43 years, Harry Smiddy, husband of 32 years, siblings, Bob (Marie) Mellon, Mary (Don) Morrison; sister and brother-in-law, Jim (Donna) Scott: daughters and son in law, Maureen Koester, Nan (Chris) Crepeau, grandchildren, Katherine Pranno, Michael Haase, Scott Haase; nephew, Michael Morrison, Gary Salach; Beth Morrison, Janny Morrison.

She was a member of St Maria Goretti Church. She was a member of Tri Kappa, Friends of Hospice and Carmelite Home for Boys. Employed as a realtor at Price Real Estate.

Friends may visit the family on Friday, April 5, from 3:00-7:00 PM, at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave, Munster, IN. A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:00 AM on Saturday, April 6, at St Maria Goretti, 500 Northgate Dr, Dyer, IN. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Donations to SHARE Foundation at 6617 County Rd, 300 E, LaPorte, IN 46350 in her memory would be appreciated.
