Maria C. Ruiz, age 92 of Chicago, IL passed away on Monday, July 19, 2021.  She is survived by her children, Marina Ruiz, Christina (Manuel) Gutierrez, Oscar R. Ruiz, John Ruiz, Arthur (Louise) Ruiz, Bertha Varela, Robert (Monica) Ruiz, Esther Ruiz-Presutti and Wayne Presutti and Maria Carmen Ruiz; grandchildren, Gabriel Valentin, Ana Ruiz, Adam Jesus, Monteza Gutierrez, Leanne and Craig Gabriel, Danielle Ruiz, Ryan and Sunmin Park Ruiz, Marissa and Charles Armour, Elizabeth, Alexander and Gina Ruiz, Selena and Chad McCleary, Sabrina Santiago Sostand and Jeremy Sostand, Dominic and Dolores Varela, Dr. Jessica Ruiz and husband, David Sierra, Valerie Ruiz and fiancé, Matthew Schoonover, Jillian Ruiz and Robert Ruiz, and Antonio, Alejandro and Santino Presutti; great grandchildren, Gabriela, Jisele,  Dimitri, Damian, Gia, Yasmine, Bella, Christopher, Charles, Jordan, Julian, D’Angelo and Martin Torres, Jr.  Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Valentin and Carmen Cavazos; husband, Oscar M. Ruiz; and “Angel”, Alexis Ruiz.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 26, 2021 DIRECTLY at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church 3200 E. 91st. St. Chicago, IL with a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial offered by Reverend Anton Nguyen.  Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery Evergreen, Park, IL.  Visitation will be on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at KISH FUNERAL HOME 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN 46321 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Maria was born Monterey, Mexico on January 14, 1928 to Valentin and Carmen Cavazos. She was the former wife of the late, Oscar M. Ruiz.  Maria was a homemaker and matriarch of 9 children, 20 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
