Maria Guadalupe Ayala, 91 of Portage, IN passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2013. Maria was born November 8, 1922 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas A. Ayala Sr. and her loving daughters, Rosa Gutierrez, Maria G. Ayala and Lupita Tapia; She is survived by her loving sons, Victor (Lana), Thomas (Lori), Edward (Angie) and Miguel (Sandy) Ayala; fond mother-in-law of Felix Gutierrez; proud grandmother of 14 and many great grandchildren, friends and caregivers at Miller‚Äôs Merry Manor in Portage. Visitation will be on Friday, December 20, 2013 from 3:00-8:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. and on Saturday from 9:30-10:00 Am at the church. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Maria Goretti Church, 500 Northgate Dr. Dyer, IN. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, IN. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Cancer Society in her memory would be appreciated.
