Marie E. Lavric, 88 of Highland, IN formerly of Lansing, IL passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2012. She is survived by her son, Michael (Debbie) Lavric; grandchildren, Shawn (Shonna) Hensley, Rachael (David) Dunlap, Kerstin (Nick) Hecimovich, Michael Lavric, Amanda (Zach) Zigterman, Candice and Jackie Sterling; Great grandchildren, Jonathan Sterling, Samantha and Sean Dunlap, Will and Colin Zigterman, Ella and Tess Hensley; sister, Hazel Pahlow; sister-in-law, Vivian Jo Clague; many cousins; dear friends, Anna Mae Bransma, Donna Patlin and Irene Todd; preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Ruth Clague; husband, Stephen; sister, Darlene Clague, brothers, Donald and Dale Clague; daughter, Linda Marie Sterling. Visitation will be Sunday, September 23, 2012 from 2:00-8:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN and on Monday from 9:00-9:30 AM at the church. Funeral service will be Monday at 9:30 AM at the Grace Reformed Church, 2740 Indiana Ave. Lansing, IL. Interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Kewanee, IL. Marie worked for the Bible League for 17 years and volunteered for another 10 years, volunteered at Meals on Wheels and in the kitchen at Illiana Christian High School. She was an active member of Grace Reform Church, Over 50 Gang in Lynwood and Craft Club in Lansing. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Ella‚Äôs care, in her memory would be appreciated.

Marie has impacted me in a profound way. She displayed a tireless effort in all that she did whether it be all of the hours she volunteered at Bible League, cooked dinners at Illiana, brought meals to shut ins, baked the best goodies, prayed when my husband was sick or just generally displayed the attributes of a woman who understood what it meant to serve God in all that she did. I worked at the Bible League for 5 yrs. in Partner Services. Marie volunteered in our dept. after having worked in it for many years. What a blessing she was, not just to me, but to everyone who ever worked in that department.All the treats she baked for us,the endless work she did, the thoughtful gifts she made for us. I will never forget this wonderful lady. Heaven's gain is our loss, but our Hope is to see her again. My condolenences to her family on the loss of this great lady.
