Marion T. Pieniazek, 89 of Dyer, IN formerly of Hammond, IN passed away on Monday, March 8, 2010. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Thaddeus “Ted”, whom she married on November 8, 1947; daughter, Mary Beth Baker; sons: James (Sandi), Philip (Nancy) and Robert (Sandy) Pieniazek; brother: Adam Filipowski; sister in law: Dorothy Filipowski; grandchildren: Lynn (Dean) Phillips, Keith Pieniazek, Nick (Jennifer) Pieniazek, Kari (Joe) Ragin, Brandon (Amy) Baker, Dr. Michael (Cori) Baker, Emmaline (Jimmy) Cunningham, Stephen (Julia) Baker, Heather (Erick) Cunningham and Mitchell Pieniazek; step grandchildren: Lori Bell, Jeffrey and Lisa Dian; great grandchildren: Haylee, T.J., Jaren, Sarah, Brittany, Nayve, Hayden, Tristen, Mason, Jake, Lily, Molly, Colten, Landyn, Kateri and Madeline; step great grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Michael Joshua, Jaxson, Justin and Julius; preceded in death by her son: Thaddeus Jr.; preceded in death by her siblings: Rose, Clementine, Jean, Tony and Joe. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 11, 2010 from 3:00-8:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Ave. (next to Fitness Pointe) Munster, IN with a prayer service at 5:00 PM and Friday from 10:00–10:30 at the church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Church, 440 Joliet St. Dyer, IN. Fr. Terrence J. Steffens officiating; Interment, Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN. Marion was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Throughout her life she was a Hammond Police Department Crossing Guard for close to thirty years, protecting the children of the Hammond Community. Marion was a life member of Our Lady Perpetual Help Church and a member of many church organizations. She was a devoted Catholic that loved her God, her church and her family. She will be sadly missed by all who loved her.
