Mark Francis Pavich, 70, former long-time resident of Hegewisch, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2025. Mark is survived by his sister, Debbie (Charlie) Tarjan, brother-in-law, Jim (Laura) Burns, and sister-in-law, Janene Burns; nieces and nephews Jeremy Burns, Jamie (Chris) Rosen, Amie (Mike) Scharnke, Charlie J. Tarjan, and Jori (Patrick) O’Connor; 7 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Dori Pavich, and his sister, Nadine (Jim) Burns.

Mark was familiar to many in Hegewisch. He enjoyed walking around town and visiting relatives and friends. As a youth, he attended the Joseph P. Kennedy School for Exceptional Children in Palos Park. His father taught him to drive during those long commutes. He was very proud of his car and driver’s license.

His favorite topics of conversation were his membership and involvement in the Lions Club (Hegewisch and Munster), Hegewisch Neighborhood Watch, his job at Harborside Golf Course, being godfather to cousin Rocky, his role as Santa Clause at Christmas, and his beloved dog, BooBoo.

A heartfelt thanks to those who surrounded him with care and compassion.

Funeral services will be private. Donations to the Lions Club organization would be a thoughtful way to honor Mark’s memory.
