She is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, William V. Brandenburg. Loving mother of William (Pam) Brandenburg, Patricia (John) Hrej and Richard (Cheryl) Brandenburg. Cherished grandmother of 5, great grandmother of 4 and great-great grandmother of 2. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Margaret. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Mary enjoyed sewing and cooking for her family while working full time at Strack & Van Til for 30 years. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Foundation in her memory would be appreciated. The Lord called, the Angels sang and Mary was put to rest. His hand reached out and she grabbed ahold, her frail body, mind and soul. She heard a voice shouting, “Heaven awaits me behold.” He said no more suffering, that I’ve had enough. I smiled and sweetly agreed. I am tired I said, though it’s hard for me to leave. I’ll miss my true love who has been so patient with me. So I told him before I go I said to thee let me whisper in his ear my dearest Bill, I’ll love you forever and forever it will be until Heaven calls you, I’ll be waiting for you. You just wait and see.
