She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Ira Vis; son: Dr. Douglas (Michelle) Vis; grandchildren: Alyssa, Kara, Holly and Matthew Vis of Perry, OH; brother: James (Debbie) Murga; nephews: David and Jeffrey; niece: Stacie (Jason); several aunts, uncles and cousins; preceded in death by her parents: John and Rose Murga; brothers: Paul (Mary Murga and Edward Murga. Visitation will be Monday, November 16, 2009 from 3:00-8:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. Funeral service will be on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the Ridge United Methodist Church 8607 Columbia Ave. Munster, IN. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church. Entombment, Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN. Mary taught for 30 years in the Calumet Area and was a member of the Ridge United Methodist Church. Her life was devoted to God and to children as a dedicated teacher, nurse, loving wife, mother and grandmother. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Ridge United Methodist Church in her memory would be appreciated.
