Mary (Mac) Vangeloff, 90, of Munster, IN formerly of East Chicago, IN passed away on Sunday afternoon, May 4, 2014 with her family by her side. She is survived by cherished daughters: Dana (John) Marthakis of Dyer, IN. and Gail (Dennis) Kozlowski of Crown Point, IN. Most adoring granchildren, Nicholas Krizman and Gina Krizman of Chicago, IL. Godsons and nephews, Thomas (Lynn) Ancich of Westfield, IN. and Thomas Colvin Jr. of Fort Wayne, IN. Brother, Joseph Colvin of Ft. Wayne, IN., Marcella Burtch of Claremont, CA. Special nieces and nephews, Maryann (son-Michael) Wolski, Marie Ancich (daughters- Devon and Bri), Cathy (Brian) Campbell, Michael (Char) Colvin. Emily (Brian) Nehring, David (Sue) Burtch. Lifelong friend, Ann Sowinski. Lastly, Macs' loving companion and friend, Crissie the dog. Preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Vangeloff. Parents, Thomas Colvin, Emily (Colvin) Rollins, stepfather, Virgil Rollins. Sister, Lorna Eley, brother, Thomas Colvin Sr. In-laws, Victoria and Anthony Ancich Sr. and nephew Tony Ancich Jr. Born January 27, 1924. Mac grew up in Fort Wayne where she had many happy memories. She was a graduate of St. Catherine’s School of Nursing where she worked for many years and went on to industrial nursing at LTV Steel until retirement. Mac was also very proud to be a member of the United States Cadet Nurse Corps during WWII. She was a member of St. Thomas More Church where Mac was a past Eucharistic minister, St. Catherine Alumni Association and the Nurses Breakfast Club. Mac will be remembered for her never-ending compassion and love of family and friends. Her dynamic personality will live on forever in all of us and we will miss her deeply. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 9, 10:00 at St. Thomas More Church, 8501 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. with Fr. Yadron officiating. Cremation to follow. Friends may gather with the family on Thursday May 8, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 PM with a prayer service at 4:30 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave., Munster, IN. and Friday 9:30-10:00 AM at the church.
