Mary Ann Mehorczyk

Mary Ann Mehorczyk, 78, of Dyer, IN, formerly of Riverdale, IL, passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 27th, 2010. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, John; daughters Ruth Ann (Philip) Miller, Jean Marie (Frank) Koehler, and Julie (Eric) Smevoll ; five grandchildren РNikki Miller, John Moreno, and Jordan, Jacob and Jared Smevoll; brother Valentine (Jean) Lang, sister Ellie (late Thomas) Mear, brother-in-law Robert (Late Amelia Edison), and many nieces and nephews.Visitation will be on Thursday, March 4, 2010 from 3 PM to 8 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Avenue (two blocks south of the Veterans War Memorial), Munster, IN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 5th, 2010 at 10 AM at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 500 Northgate Drive (corner of Northgate and Sheffield Avenue) Dyer, IN. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Calumet City, IL.Mary Ann was born in Riverdale, IL, and was the daughter of the late Valentine Lang and ¬¬¬Marie Spielmann. She married the love of her life, John Mehorczyk on June 11th, 1955. She blessed us with an additional 19 years of love, as she was the beneficiary of a heart transplant in 1991. Mary Ann embraced life like no one else. She could start up a conversation with anyone, and a stranger was only a friend she had not yet met. Family was very important to her and her source of joy. Above all, her warmth and carefree attitude made every event a fun filled and memorable time for all. Mary Ann was a member of St. Maria Goretti Church, and a former member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Riverdale/Chicago, IL, She was also a member of the Foresters, and the Riverdale Bunko Club. In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Maria Goretti Church (500 Northgate Drive, Dyer, IN 46311) or St. Mary of the Assumption Church (310 E. 137th Street, Chicago, IL 60827) in her memory would be appreciated.
