Mary J. Hayden, 81 of Dyer, IN formerly of Dolton, IL passed away on Friday, April 19, 2013. Beloved wife for 61 years of William Hayden; loving mother of Kathleen (David) Kapala, Mary (Charlie) Shanks, Eileen (Robert) Sturm and Bill Hayden; cherished grandmother of Thomas Kapala, Jean (Jason) Brown, Mary Kapala and Bill Beneventi; proud great grandmother of Nora and Sarah Brown, Nolan Thompson, Aidan Kapala; preceded in death by her brother, Thomas McCarthy and sister, Barbara Ferguson. \”Mary was a talented homemaker who always put her family first. She had many passions in life including a life-long love of photography and videography.\” Visitation will be on Tuesday April 23, 2013 from 3:00-8:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at 9:30 AM at the funeral home with a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Maria Goretti Church, Dyer, IN. Private interment will be at Assumption Cemetery, Glenwood, IL.

Uncle Bill and Family, Annetta and I are thinking of you and your entire family, during this time of loss and grief. As I write these few words, I am remembering Aunt Mary as she was; a kind and loving Aunt and my Godmother. I am remembering her as she was when I was but a young boy and as I grew up. I find myself rethinking through all the good times that we all experienced together as an extended family through the years. Over all those years, time and time again, I have fondly recalled all the Christmas celebrations, McCarthy Picnic’s, birthday parties, first communion’ celebrations, weddings attended, and everything in between. The memories in my mind seemingly grow fonder as the passing of time has marched on. I am terribly sorry that Annetta and I cannot be there to share in your loss together, but we wanted you to know that we will keep Aunt Mary and your entire family in our thoughts and prayers.
