Melissa “Missy” Wilson, 44 of Dyer, IN passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. She is survived by her parents, Michael & Jackie Starzak; God mother, Kristy Nondorf; many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jack & Bea Slawson, William & Frances Starzak, and Harry & Beverly Wilson; aunt, Mary Kay (Babe) Maggio, Marilyn Starzak, and Cindy Starzak; uncle, Louis Madalon; faithful companions, Spike & Buffy.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at 11:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2505 Indiana Ave. Lansing, IL. Interment will be at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN. Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 from 3:00-8:00 pm at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. and on Wednesday from 10:30-11:00 am at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Trinity Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice in her memory would be appreciated.

Missy was a graduate of Trinity Lutheran Grade School and Luther East High School. She was very strong in her Faith and never met a stranger, she loved to spend time doing Diamond Art painting with her Aunt Laurie.

Jackie & Mike, I’m so sorry for your loss. Missy and I met at Trinity years ago. She was always smiling and so outgoing. Over the years we were able to catch up and I will treasure those moments. She will definitely be missed.

Dear Jackie and Mike, As friends and family from Trinity Church and School, my family and I send our deepest sympathy to you. Missy always had a smile on her cheerful face. My very first meeting Missy was the day she started Sunday School with her fellow Kindergarten friends in the church basement. Her first question she asked was "Do we get snacks during Sunday School?'. Her little smiling face lightened up my face, I told her, sometimes, but not every Sunday. She replied " oh, that's ok" sat down with her fellow kindergarten friends, and brought cheer to everyone Sunday morning since. God already has Missy wrapped in his arms. God's blessings to you. I'm so saddened to hear of Missy's passing. She was a beautiful soul and will be greatly missed. Sending healing prayers and comfort during this tough time.
