Michael E. Lawbaugh Sr

Michael E. Lawbaugh, Sr., 68, of St. John, IN. Born August 4, 1944 in Chicago, IL to Clarence “Mike” and Madeline (nee Sheron) Lawbaugh, who preceded him in death. He passed this life peacefully on Thursday, December 13, 2012 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Gloria (nee Jakubczak); loving father of Jennifer Olejniczak, Michael (Doreen), Doreen (Tony) DiCianni, Robert Angotti, Ruth Angotti, Laura (Dave) Elkins, Lisa (Danny) Percak, Karen (Butch) Puplava and Mary Jo Angotti; Proud grandfather of 17 and great grandfather of 6; caring brother of Sharon (Tony) Bail and uncle to many nieces and nephews. Mike retired from Acme Steel after 30 years of service. He proudly served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and is a member of the VFW and the DAV. Mike is a member of Ridge United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the choir. He was a loyal fan of the Chicago Bears and White Sox. He will be deeply missed by all those whose lives he touched. Funeral service will be held Monday, December 17, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Ridge United Methodist Church, 8607 Columbia Ave. Munster, IN. Interment will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00-7:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Cancer Society or Ridge United Methodist Church in his memory would be appreciated.
