To Joe and your family, I am very sorry to have heard about Mike. He used to follow Joe around like a puppy. He smiled when Joe smiled and laughed when Joe laughed. You can still be his idol Joe. Tony

I spent a lot of time working with Mike at Delta Airlines. He was a focused individual I wish I could have known on a personal level as he seemed to be such a great person. I'm surprised by this news and sure he is smiling with the father in Heaven.

I met Mike for the first time in Charleston SC a few years ago, both brothers in Christ. Our paths crossed again in Toulouse with Zodiac/Safran. This is not goodbye brother, it’s more like see you later. God bless and May He wrap his loving arms around grieving family and friends. Xxx

To the family of Mike, from a fellow American in Toulouse: Mike was instantly friendly, generous in his time and effort, and made me feel like life was meant to be lived intentionally. We met in our silly pub in Toulouse where some thought he was my dad. This is not because he looked the part but rather because he acted the part. Mike was always good for a pint, and I’m sharing a picture here of some of us out celebrating his birthday. Mike was diligent about keeping in touch, and I will forever be grateful for his impact on me. He knew and shared the importance of loving, living, and sharing. Thank you to the family for raising such a friend. Though I never met you, I can tell he came from good people.

Lily, Yvanka, Lea, Wizard and Melting Pot Staff left a message on May 19, 2023:
My dear Mike, Here in Toulouse, you made some good friends and I count myself lucky to be one of them. You were one of those people that you couldn't not love instantly. Every member of staff at the Melting Pot, as well as Lea and Wizard join me to send your family, siblings and fiancée our deepest condolences and warmest thoughts at this difficult time. I simply would like to thank you Mike for our chats about life, love, growth, what makes us humans and how we should always aim at being better. I remember fondly our hike on Lake d'Ôo on a sunny day in June last year. You were so wise and you gave me such good advice, I promise to follow that particular one, every day. You made my Sunday shifts at the pub so fun, talking about so many different things, telling me all sorts of stories about your life in the States, I always laughed and, bonus, learnt something too! As Wizard would say, you were the quietest yank' he'd ever met (please read this in a genuinely kind, northern Irish accent) I'll remember your smile, those big blue eyes, your soft voice, cracking me up every time you would jokingly say "for f*ck's sake Mike' (I do apologise for the language if this is read in Church, I meant no disrespect, just a little joke when he would take Dawn for too long a walk around Toulouse!) I am grateful our paths crossed, however too briefly for my liking, your love story with Dawn is an inspiration for me and everyone here, although I wish you two would have had so much more time together. I take comfort in thinking that at least you got to experience what so many of us are looking for, true love. Mike you taught me to dream big and appreciate every second of life, I only taught you how to make French pancakes, I feel this is not an even deal.. I hope you're at peace wherever you are now. Your friend forever, Lily
