Michael J. Ilijanich, age 78, of Munster, IN, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017. He is survived by his wife Judy (nee Zondor) Ilijanich; daughters, Juli (John) Cosentino, Aimee (Jim) Jacobs and Tracey (Greg) Stevens; grandchildren, Cody and Carly Cosentino and Jillian and Kaila Jacobs; sister, Carol (Dick) Loehr; brother, Jim (Adele) Ilijanich; brothers-in-law, Myles Stastny and Chuck (Rinkje) Zondor; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anna and Michael Ilijanich; and sister, Betty Stastny. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2017 DIRECTLY at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church 500 Northgate Dr. Dyer, IN with a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial offered by Reverend Charles Niblick. Interment will be private at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Elwood, IL. Visitation will be on Saturday, at the church, from 9:30 a.m. until the 10:30 a.m. Mass. Michael was a proud Veteran of the USMC, a member of St. Maria Goretti Church and a retiree of LTV Steel. He loved all his grandchildren and tending to “his” birds. Michael was a good “Poppy” to all, and will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Maria Goretti Community Outreach or Catholic Charities.
