Michael Orminski

Michael “Mike” Orminski, 80 a 10 year resident of DeMotte, IN formerly of Calumet City, IL and Glenwood, IL passed away at Community Hospital after a difficult illness on Friday, October 8, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Rosemary (nee Wojtkowiak); son Michael (Kathleen) Orminski III of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; stepson, Ron Kikert of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; stepdaughters, Laura “Stormy” (Paul) Cave of Dyer, IN and Sandra Chalifoux of Hammond, IN and her friend Steve Lashbrook; grandchildren, Melissa, Michelle and Michael J. Orminski of DeKalb, IL; 3 step grandchildren, Valerie (Steve) Barick of Cedar Lake, IN, Vicky Cave of Dyer, IN and Stacy Chalifoux of Hammond, IN; 2 step great grandchildren, Dillon Chalifoux and Zofia Barrick; sisters, Gladys (Carl) Mills of Munster, IN and Geraldine Orminski of Lansing, IL; 5 nieces. Visitation will be on Sunday, October 10, 2010 from 2:00-6:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 11, 2010 at 10:00 AM at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 768 Lincoln Ave. Calumet City, IL. Interment will be private. Mike served with the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Sperry. He worked at Swift & Co. in Hammond, IN and retired from Johnson & Johnson. A life member of American Legion Post 330 in Calumet City, IL and the U.S.S. 12 Sperry Association; member of the Ridgeview RV Resort in Bull Head City, AZ and a life member of the Indiana Yacht Club. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Hospice of the Calumet Area in his memory would be appreciated.
