Michael Robert Haviley, 73 of Dyer, IN passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at his home. Mike is survived by his wife: Judith L. Haviley; daughters: Dina (Karl) Schmitz, Lisa (Tim) Hofferth, Kerri (Eric) Dowdy and Amy (late Mike) Smith; 11 grandchildren; brother: Jim (Corinne) Haviley and several nieces and nephews.Mike was an avid fisherman, hunter, artist, reader and loved to travel. After retiring, Mike spent several years working at St. Maria Goretti Church and relished the friendships that were made during his time there. Mike's family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Marcy Millar, Dr. Mark Agulnik and staff at The Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, and Hospice of the Calumet Area. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Sunday, September 25, 2011 from 1:30-2:30 PM at St. Maria Goretti Church, 500 Northgate Drive, Dyer, IN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:30 PM.In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to St. Maria Goretti Church, 500 Northgate Drive, Dyer, IN 46311, in Mike's memory. Mike was dearly loved and will be missed by those whose lives he touched.
