Michalene Dillon, 96, of Hammond, IN passed away on November 29, 2015. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Beth (Michael) Johnsen and Susan DeFranco; her son, Michael S. Dillon; grandchildren, Christopher (Trisa) Johnsen, Angela (David) Kreeger and Sarah Jane DeFranco; great grandchildren, William Johnsen, Abigail and Kaitlyn Kreeger; brother, Frank (late Jean) Podkul; sister-in-law, Alice (late George) Dillon; many special nieces, nephews, cousins and life-long friend, Lillian Bess. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael L. Dillon; parents, Mary (Mysliwy) and Stanley Podkul; sister and brother-in-law, Kay and William Przondo; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Gert Patko, and brother, Paul Podkul; brothers- and sisters-in-law John and Marie Dillon, Robert and Marie Dillon, Daniel Dillon, Mary and Mike Kammer, Margaret (Peg) and Louis Zwettler, Rita and Chuck Bossinger, Catherine and Frank Bednar, and Lucille Dillon.Visitation at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave., Munster, IN on Thursday, December 3, 2015 from 3:00-8:00. A Mass of Christian Burial at St. John Bosco Church, on Friday, December 4, 2015, at 11:00. Visitation precedes the mass at 10:30 a.m. directly at the church. Interment at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, IN.Michalene, a loving wife, mother, grandma and Busia will be missed by all who knew her. She was a longtime member of St. John Bosco Church. She cherished her home and her family and loved to cook (best cheese cake and chocolate chip cookies ever!) In lieu of flowers, contributions to Hospice of the Calumet Area in her memory would be appreciated.
