Mitchell E. Goldenberg, Age 81, passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2013. He was a resident of Naples, Florida and Crown Point, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his wife, Harolyn (Honey) Goldenberg. Devoted father of Susan Goldenberg of Chicago, Eric Goldenberg of Munster, and Amy Rome of Chicago and father-in-law of Hope Goldenberg and Jason Hill. Adoring grandfather of Ben, Michael, Harry, Haley and Annie. Loving brother of Ruth Marion (Rich McCleary) of Clayton, Missouri and Bora Bender (Max) of Ann Arbor, Michigan. He shared his later years with Jill Goode. He was a plastic and reconstructive surgeon in Northwest Indiana for over 40 years. He attended Washington University in St. Louis for his undergraduate and medical school education. He completed a residency in general surgery at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia where he met his wife, Honey, who was a nurse. He also completed a residency in plastic surgery at Meadowbrook Hospital in Hempstead, New York as well as a fellowship in hand surgery and additional training at Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York. He served as a Captain in the U.S. Army and as a physician in a M.A.S.H. unit in Korea. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 22, at 11:00 am at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Avenue, Munster, Indiana, with visitation at 10:00 am.
