Norman Szymonik, age 74 of Lansing, entered into Eternal Rest on Wednesday, July 6th, 2022.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Szymonik; three children, Denise (Timothy) Szorc, Renee (Edward) Thometz and David (Shelley) Szymonik; six grand-children, Ryan, Allison, Jacob, Kyle, Bailey and Sydney; two Step-Grandchildren, Anthony and Alex; two brothers, Michael (Janie) Szymonik, David (Sally) Szymonik; sister, Linda (late Michael) Nowak; sister-in-law, Deborah (William) Cook, nieces, Jennifer (Fabian) Herrera, Julie (Ryan) Johnson and Michelle (John) O’Connor; and nephew, Sam (Adriana) Szymonik. Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Virginia Szymonik.
Family and friends are invited to share a Visitation on Sunday, July 10, 2022 from 2 – 7pm at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Avenue, Munster, IN, 46321 with a Vigil Service at 2:30pm., and again Monday, at the church from 9:30am until the 10:00am Mass. Funeral Mass Monday, July 11, 2022 directly at St. Thomas More Church 8501 Calumet Avenue Munster, IN 46321. Burial at Elmwood Cemetery will follow.
Norman grew up in Chicago (Hegewisch), IL but has been a long-time resident of Lansing, IL. He was retired from Superior Construction as a Vice President, Superintendent, and Project Manager. He was an avid lifelong military historian and collector.
